Venue
Auditori de Caputxins, with a capacity for 202 people, is a new space that began its activity in the spring of 2015, after being rehabilitated what had been the former convent of the Caputxins.
The former convent of the Capuchins is a listed building under the Special Plan for the Protection of Buildings in Figueres. The convent was restored for cultural purposes, especially as an auditorium for concerts and large-scale cultural activities.
The old 18th-century building was completed in 1790 by the Capuchin sisters, who had abandoned the old Convent of Sant Roc, which was demolished during the reign of Charles III to build the castle of Sant Ferran and formed part of the crown of convents outside the walls of the town in the 18th century.
The building has belonged to the Figueres City Council since 1841 after the approval of the disentailment legislation of 1833.
